External Hard Drive Sample Folder

Can I drag the sample folder on a external hard drive? Yes but only if it is formatted a particular way see below.

Drive Type

SSD (Solid State Drives) are the recommended which are sample-based. 7200rpm HDD (Hard Disk Drives)

The connection to external drives should be as fast as possible: Thunderbolt or USB3 are recommended. USB2 is not adequate in some cases.

Format

For Mac computers, you'll want to use the format APFS. If you are using macOS Sierra or earlier, MacOS Extended (Journaled) (also called HFS+) will also work. ***FORMATTING YOUR DRIVE WILL ERASE EVERYTHING ON IT SO MAKE SURE ITS BRAND NEW AND EMPTY.

For Windows computers, you'll want to use file system (a.k.a. format) NTFS.

Please avoid exFAT or MS-DOS (FAT32). Some users are reporting errors using this format.
